(Romans 3:21) But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
(Romans 3:28) For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

An Illustration of Justification by Faith Alone
(Romans 4: 1-3) What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

The Righteousness of Abraham
(Genesis 26: 4-5 NKJV) I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.
(Genesis 15:6) Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
(Romans 4:18-21) Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead –since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

Abraham’s Response: He Believed
(Hebrews 11: 8-10) By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
(Galatians 3:8) Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.”
(Galatians 3:13-14) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who hung on a pole.” He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
(Galatians 3:16) The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say, “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed, meaning one person, who is Christ.
(John 8:56) Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.
