Proverbs 31

1. A Mother’s Life

She is the Giver of Life

Genesis 3:20
20 The man named his wife Eve (life spring, life giver), because she was the mother of all the living.

She is the Nurturer of Your Life

Isaiah 49:15
Can a woman forget her sucking child
That she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? 
yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

She is Often Insecure about Her life

Luke 2:19But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

2. A Mother’s Lessons

Her lessons have FLEXIBILITY 

Proverbs 31:1-3
The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

Proverbs 31:4-5
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Proverbs 31:6
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

Proverbs 31:8
Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Her lessons display DEPENDABILITY

Proverbs 31:727 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

Her lessons have CREDIBILITY

Proverbs 31:26
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

3. A Mother’s Legacy 

Her legacy is one of NOBILITY 

Proverbs 31:28,31
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessedher husband also, and he praiseth her. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

4. A Mother’s Lord

Proverbs 31:30
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth theLord, she shall be praised.
