Matthew 5:13
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Are You Worth Your Salt?

A Precious Commodity salt of the earth…

  1. Food,
  2. Friendships,
  3. Financial,
  4. Formalize covenants (salt Covenant)

2 Chronicles 13:5
“Should you not know that the LORD God of Israel gave the dominion over Israel to David forever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt?

A Pleasing Compliment (YE are the salt of the earth)

A Primary Characteristic (purpose of salt)

  • Purity

  • Pleasing

  • Pugnacious

  • Pining

  • Punishing

  • Salt is primarily a PRESERVATIVE

 A Potential Crisis …but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall IT be salted?

 A Pathetic Consequence

  • USELESS for good– it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out,
  • USED for evil – and to be trodden under foot of men.
