17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
John 17:1

Jesus’s Prayer Helps us to Understand His Will for Us
1. PROTECTION from EVIL.
John 17:15
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
2. UNIFY true BELIEVERS in Love
John 17:21a
That they all may be one;…
John 17:21
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
John 13:34-35
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Romans 15:5-7
5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: 6 that ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
3. FILL them with JOY.
John 17:13
13And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
John 16:20c
…your sorrow shall be turned to joy.
4. PURIFY them with your WORD.
John 17:17
17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-5

John 17:19
19And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
