How To Enjoy Your Salvation

1 John 3:1-2
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

Beloved, NOW are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Matthew 6:1
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 6:9
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

The Purpose of Adoption

Galatians 4:1-7 NLT
1 Think of it this way. If a father dies and leaves great wealth for his young children, those children are not much better off than slaves until they grow up, even though they actually own everything their father had.

2They have to obey their guardians until they reach whatever age their father set.

3And that’s the way it was with us before Christ came. We were slaves to the spiritual powers of this world. 4But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. 5God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.

6And because you Gentiles have become his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, and now you can call God your dear Father.  7Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child.  And since you are his child, everything he has belongs to you.

Romans 8:11-16
11The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you. 12So, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation whatsoever to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.

13For if you keep on following it, you will perish. But if through the power of the Holy Spirit you turn from it and its evil deeds, you will live. 14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

15So you should not be like cowering, fearful slaves. You should behave instead like God’s very own children, adopted into his family –calling him “Father, dear Father.”

16For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God’s children. 17And since we are his children, we will share his treasures–for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours, too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

Definition:

Adoption is the ACT of God whereby he gives each of his children anADULT standing in his FAMILY.

Adoption is NOT the way you get into God’s family – Adoption is the way youENJOY God’s family.

Adoption into God’s family is a very “unique privilege”

How Can We Enjoy Adoption?

BELIEVE

1 Corinthians 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

YEILD

Romans 8:1-2
1   There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  2   For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:13
13   For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Romans 8:13 AMP
if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.
