The Great Escape

The truth about Hell and why we should be sure we escape it.

Colossians 1:16
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.  All things were created through Him and for Him.

 

The Judgment

 

Matthew 25: 31-32, 41
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.  All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me you cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels….’”

Five Things You Should Know About Hell That Are Found in Scripture:

  1. Hell is a literal

Revelation 21:7-8
He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be my son.  But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

  1. Hell is a dark

Matthew 8:12
But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness.  There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

  1. Hell is an awful

Matthew 13:42
…., and will cast them into the furnace of fire.

  1. Hell is a permanent

Matthew 25:41

  1. Hell is an avoidable

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

The Escape Plan

  1. God wants everyone to be in on the plan.

1 Timothy 2:4
…who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.
