Jacob’s Judgement Seat Part 2

Our anger is so acidic it can eat right through the most precious parts of our lives.
Genesis 49:1-7

Romans 14:10
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:9-11
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.  11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;

1 Corinthians 3:13-15
13 every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Genesis 49:1-2

And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father.

Simeon and Levi

Genesis 49:5-6 (Amplified)
“Simeon and Levi are brothers [equally headstrong, deceitful, vindictive, and cruel];
Their swords are weapons of violence and revenge. “O my soul, do not come into their  secret council; Let not my glory (honor) be united with their assembly [for I knew nothing of their plot]; Because in their anger they killed men [an honored man, Shechem, and the Shechemites], And in their self-will they lamed oxen. “Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; And their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide and disperse them in Jacob,
And scatter them in [the midst of the land of] Israel.

1. Their Anger is EXTREME

Genesis 49:7
Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel:

2.Their Actions are EGREGIOUS

Genesis 49:6
for in their anger they slew a man...

Genesis 34:25-28
25
And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males. 26 And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem’s house, and went out. 27 The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister. 28 They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field, 29 and all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.

3. Their Attitude is EGO-DRIVEN

Genesis 49:6b

…for in their anger they slew a man, and in their self-will they digged down a wall.
